Key conventions . Introduction to advertising: blog task

  1) What key conventions of print adverts can you find and what are the  connotations  or deeper meanings of each convention? The product is standing out as it is in the middle of the advert and has an exciting skittle made rainbow which connotes happiness as loads of bright colours usually connotes happiness . 2) For each convention, write about how it might appeal to a target audience.  Showing the name skittles will appeal sweet (candy) lovers as skittles is a big name and one of the biggest sweets in the whole world . The colourful skittles could appeal to people that like happiness as colours show happiness and could bring excited customers .  3) What is the USP (unique selling point) for Skittles and how do you know? I think the USP for skittles is the colours and the taste the rainbow phrase as it connotes to happiness this will bring family and little kids that will look at bright colours first most of the time .
