Magazines blog assessment

 1) What is a convention of a magazine cover? Give an example from Tatler. [2 marks]

An image , they put the picture which is annotated in the front cover of the magazine which is usually important .

2) How does the front cover of Tatler use media language to appeal to its target audience? [6 marks]

There are subheadings which are followed by informative sentences . Each subheading is important and are mostly about the CLAMPS with subheadings off costumes and more . Underneath the written subheadings are rhetorical  questions or summary's of what is inside the magazine . The rhetorical questions gets some audiences to read more as it is making them think . There target audience is posh people or fashionable people ,the cover displays information that they would want to know about and tatler make it intreging . Also there is an image of a modern posh lady which posh and fashionable people will be intreged from . 

3) How does the front cover of Reveal magazine represent female celebrities? [12 marks]

In the reveal magazine there are many females represented in many ways . One way is hypocrytical . This is because they have two images of two different celebrities eating unhealthily , however they are trying to say those celebrities are swapping cardio for carbs . The preffered reading is that these celebrities should be working out and eating healthy but they are not . The oppistianal reading is that these celebrities wanted to treat themselves once in a long time but got caught . Therefore reveal is trying to represent some celebrities as two faced .Another way reveal are trying to represent female celebrities is romantic. This is because every headline in the front cover apart from the two celebrities eating unhealthy are about relationships and one about pregnancy which includes love. The preferred reading is that all female celebriities are romantic and like to talk about love . This is because they are showing pictures of the females smiling annd some showing quotes about love and addictions to love . Therefore female celebrities are represented as very addicted to love .

  Representation 1) What political party does the  Daily Mirror  support? Labour party . 2) How does the  Daily Mirror  usually represent rich and powerful people?
