Since 1960 technology has developed a lot which has caused major changes in the way an audience listens to music in modern times such as using streaming apps .

It was launched in 2015 and produced artist interviews , global and exclusive premiers and more .
3) What is the difference between Beats 1 Radio, iTunes and Apple Music?
ITUNES is like a classic music shop but online , apple music is a music streaming device where you pay a monthly fee and beats 1 radio is a radio company where you can listen to the opinions of DJ's and also be informed about music .
4) Why was Apple so keen to enter the online music world and compete with Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music (and others)?
There was huge market in the streaming so apple wanted to join the industry .

Zane Lowe - He was a mainstream DJ and was also a radio DJ who had a lot of fans .
Julie Adenuga - She knew about modern English music and knows how to interact with the audience .
Ebro Darden - DJ in big NEW YORK radio and is international and will bring fans from around the world .

The DJs can interact with the audience but there is no audience interaction with Spotify etc .

1 reason Beats 1 is good for traditional media is because it brings a lot of new radio listeners and creates a bigger audience . However 1 way Beats 1 is a threat to traditional media industry is because it is different and will change radio .

They can have personal relationship with the DJ's .
They get entertained by the DJ's and music artists .

They passively listen as they are just listening to music however they also actively listen because they understand DJ's and could also follow them on social media .
4) Is Apple Beats 1 aimed at a mass or niche audience? How does this differ to BBC Radio 1?
Niche audience. They want the audience to have personal relationships with DJ's and focus on certain audiences.

I believe streaming services will be the future of audio-based-media because it is easier to access and is currently more popular the Beats 1 .
