Media assessment - Learner response

 1) Type up your feedback in full - WWW & EBI. You do not have to write your mark and grade if you don't want to.

WWW- There is clear potential here but also a very useful lesson in what we need to revise before exams later in the year .

EBI- Revise narrative theory : you missed out on 8 potential marks here .

Grade-4

2) Look at Question 3 in the assessment - the media analysis of the Under Armour advert.

Use CLAMPS to revise mise-en-scene and write about each element of CLAMPS for the Under Armour advert.

C - Costume: The under armour shoes connote that they help you with achieving activities .

L - Lighting: The under armour floodlights suggest that under armour is really important and is the only object that is bright .

A : The actor is in the middle of the pitch and both flood lights are presenting him suggesting he needs to be shown

M - Make up: The actors facial expressions suggest that he is pushing his limits and trying very hard .

P - Props: The tyre is used to show the actors strength .

S - Setting: The pitch shows that the actor is training .

The mark scheme will also help with identifying additional points you could have made in Q3.

3) Look at Question 4. What is Todorov's theory of equilibrium? How does it link to the Audrey Hepburn Galaxy advert?
There is an equilibrium - Audrey in the bus
Disequilibrium - There is traffic
New equilibrium - Audrey goes in the car and gives the driver the bus drivers hat .

4) What social class is Reveal aimed at? (Extension - what do the cover lines on Reveal suggest about what working class people are interested in?)
